Amanda Lepore is celebrating the late David Bowie’s 71st birthday with a cover of one of his most famous tracks, “The Jean Genie.”

The bombshell babe has continuously included a canon of classics when she performs her famous nightclub shows, and the cover of The Jean Genie serves as both a compliment and a tribute to David Bowie on what would have been his 71st birthday this year.

Bowie composed “The Jean Genie” in autumn 1972, completing the song in New York City, where he spent time with Cyrinda Foxe, best known for her role in Andy Warhol’s 1977 film “Bad.” Bowie would later disclose that he wrote the track in her apartment and for her amusement. Foxe also appears in the 1973 music video for the track.

Amanda Lepore’s music video for the cover of the song is edited by Scott J Heller and is an exclusive compilation of some of the amazing fan art the nightclub icon has received through the years. “The Jean Genie” will be featured on Amanda’s upcoming LEPORE. EP album which is set to be released on February 16, 2018.
